Project Overview:
PatAsh were successful in their bid to win the Fire and Flood recovery work for Murrindindi Shire in 2010 – resulting from the Black Saturday Fires.
PatAsh established operation yards at King Lake, Marysville, Flowerdale, Buxton and Molesworth, with the main command centre in King Lake. PatAsh actively recruited local employees and sub-contractors from the devastated areas.
PatAsh was initially contracted to assist with the clean-up works including tree removal and disposal, erosion control, environmental clean-up, contamination control, debris clearing and swale excavation.
From the initial clean up, PatAsh were contracted to rebuild town roads, install new drainage, and assist communities to rebuild. Our works included:
Major road rehabilitations
Road construction and reinstatement
Bridge construction and repairs, and maintenance
Major drainage line for Marysville
Installation of culverts, including concrete pipes, headwalls, end walls, pits, grated pits
Asphalt reinstatement and patching
PatAsh also assisted the Murrindindi Council to establish hard rock quarries for council roads to be used by all contractors completing the works in the area.
